Some weddings feel like they belong in a movie, and Sévana and Vlad’s wedding at La Toundra in Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montreal was exactly that—elegant, timeless, and filled with love. From their heartfelt ceremony to their incredible first dance, every moment of the day was beautifully curated and authentically them.
While I don’t know exactly how Sévana and Vlad met, I do know that their proposal was straight out of a fairytale. Vlad popped the question at Château Frontenac in Quebec City, a place that holds deep significance for them. It was so special to have captured their engagement session there, knowing that it played such an important role in their journey.
When it came time to say “I do,” they chose La Toundra—a stunning venue that offers the perfect blend of city and nature, making it the ideal backdrop for their celebration.
The morning was filled with excitement and relaxed energy on both sides. The groom and his groomsmen got ready at the bride’s brother’s condo, where they enjoyed music, good food, and plenty of laughter—it was all about fun and chill vibes. Meanwhile, the bride and her bridesmaids got ready at her father’s condo, just a few minutes away. The atmosphere was calm but buzzing with excitement, as everyone eagerly anticipated the big moment.
Unlike many couples, Sévana and Vlad chose not to do a first look, saving the anticipation for the ceremony itself. And what a ceremony it was.
Held in La Toundra’s beautiful garden, their outdoor ceremony was nothing short of magical. But what made it truly unforgettable was the officiant—Sévana’s father. His words were deeply personal, emotional, and heartfelt, making the ceremony an incredibly intimate experience for everyone present.
One of the things I loved about Sévana and Vlad’s wedding was how they embraced a non-traditional wedding party. While the groomsmen were all close friends of the groom, Sévana’s bridal party was a mix of family and friends, including her sister-in-law, cousin, brother, and a male friend—a perfect reflection of the people who mean the most to her. Their attire was just as elegant as the rest of the day, with the bridespeople in champagne-colored silk dresses and beige suits, while the groomsmen kept it classic in black suits and white shirts. It was such a beautiful, modern take on tradition!
The light during Sévana and Vlad’s couple portraits was an absolute dream—soft, golden, and just perfect in every way. As a photographer, I’m always chasing that magical glow, and on this day, it felt like everything aligned effortlessly. The way the light wrapped around them, highlighting their connection and joy, made for some of my favorite portraits ever. I still pinch myself thinking about how incredibly dreamy it all was!
The bridal party entrance was one for the books—full of fun and high energy, setting the perfect tone for the night. When Sévana and Vlad made their entrance, the excitement was palpable. In a moment that perfectly captured their dynamic, Vlad carried his bride in, princess style, as their guests cheered them on. It was such a joyful and romantic way to start the celebration! To officially kick off the party, they went straight to a champagne tower—a sophisticated and celebratory way to mark the beginning of the night. They executed it to perfection, setting the stage for an evening of joy and elegance.
The biggest surprise of the night? Sévana’s first dance skills! When she and Vlad took the floor for their first dance, it became clear that this was no ordinary slow sway. Their choreography was absolutely breathtaking—a flawless, expressive, and emotionally charged performance. That’s when I found out she’s a dancer, and it made so much sense. It was stunning to watch and even more incredible to capture.
One of the rarest and most amazing parts of this wedding? The lighting was perfect ALL DAY—which, as a photographer, is a dream come true. From the soft, natural light during the ceremony to the elegant ambiance inside La Toundra, every moment was picture-perfect.
Sévana and Vlad’s wedding was a true reflection of their love—sophisticated, deeply meaningful, and effortlessly fun. It was such an honour to document their day, and I can’t wait to return to La Toundra for more stunning celebrations like this one!
