Allie & Tyler’s love story goes way back. They met as teenagers and started dating in 2012. Since then, they’ve built a beautiful tradition of writing each other letters every year for their birthdays and anniversary. On their 10-year anniversary, Tyler added a very special twist to his letter and proposed at the end. Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything more them than that.
They are the sweetest couple, and Allie & I became friends instantly. Their wedding day felt exactly like who they are: relaxed, genuine, and all about celebrating 13 years of love and growing together.
Allie & Tyler both got ready in different spaces at Château St-Ambroise, and the contrast couldn’t have been more perfect. The boys got ready in a gym, which somehow turned into the best possible vibe for them, while the girls got ready in a makeup artist studio, calm, cozy, and full of excitement. Both spaces felt so fitting and reflected their personalities perfectly.
Despite it being a fall wedding, Montreal decided to throw a heat wave their way, but everyone handled it like champs and kept the energy high all day.
They chose not to do a first look and kept the surprise for the ceremony instead. Each of them walked themselves down the aisle, which felt really symbolic and personal. Their friend officiated the ceremony, and it was a beautiful mix of heartfelt and funny moments.
Their vows were especially meaningful, and clearly, their years of writing letters to each other paid off. They were thoughtful, emotional, hilarious and perfectly captured who they are as a couple.
Allie & Tyler had the largest bridal party I’ve ever worked with: 9 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen! It was definitely a fun challenge, but they were all incredible. Everyone listened, stayed present, and was truly there for the couple, which made such a difference. You could really feel how supported and loved Allie & Tyler are.
We did their couple portraits during cocktail hour on the venue grounds, making the most of the warm light and fall colours. Even with the heat, they were absolute naturals together: relaxed, connected, and so happy to finally be married. It felt less like a photo session and more like a moment for them to breathe and enjoy being together.
They made their grand entrances and went straight into their first dance, which was such a sweet way to kick off the evening. From there, it flowed into dinner and several speeches from friends and family, all full of love, memories, and a lot of laughter. The overall aesthetic stayed true to fall: minimalistic, warm tones, with a gorgeous bouquet in autumn colours. The bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s ties were emerald green, tying everything together beautifully.
Despite the unexpected heat, the day was absolutely lovely. Allie & Tyler looked so genuinely happy from start to finish, and it was such a joy to document their story. I fell in love with them during our discovery call, and then again during their engagement session, and their wedding day only confirmed how special their connection really is.
Their day wasn’t about trends or big productions. It was about love, history, and celebrating everything they’ve built together over the last 13 years and that’s always my favourite kind of wedding to photograph. 🤍
