Naomi & JP met at Dawson College, and a decade later, celebrated their love with an incredible wedding full of laughter, culture, and so much dancing. I first met them just a few days before they packed up and moved to Manitoba for a year—Naomi was starting her residency in child psychology, and they somehow planned an entire wedding from another province! They’re both soft-spoken, thoughtful, and impossibly sweet. You can tell right away how much they adore each other, and being part of their celebration was such a treat.
We started the day with a sweet first look right on the golf course—don’t worry, we stayed safely out of swing range! It was a tender moment between the two of them, even though the wind gave Naomi’s veil a bit of trouble. Right after, we took the couple portraits while the light was still golden and warm. Later in the day, we snuck out for a few more shots just before sunset. The way they looked at each other made everything easy—so much genuine affection and joy.
Both of their fathers officiated the ceremony, which made it especially personal and emotional. Naomi and JP also wrote their own vows, and they were the perfect mix of heartfelt and funny—there were laughs, a few tears, and lots of love. Before things got started, JP’s brother walked down the aisle firing a bubble machine gun (a hilarious touch), followed by two “flower boys” with fanny packs full of petals. It was the perfect balance of sweet and playful, just like the two of them.
The couple kept things simple and cozy, letting the natural beauty of the venue shine. They added seasonal touches with mini pumpkins and dried florals scattered throughout the space, which gave everything a warm, autumn feel without overdoing it. The mix of elegance and simplicity matched their personalities perfectly.
The reception was truly a party from start to finish! After their grand entrances, the couple and guests jumped straight into dancing, including a lively hora that kicked things off with so much energy. They also incorporated Arabic music and dances to honour Naomi’s background, and Greek music to celebrate JP’s heritage, which made the evening feel even more personal and joyful. Naomi and JP’s mothers gave a joint speech that was both touching and funny, followed by a few games, including a dance contest that had the whole room laughing and cheering. The dancing didn’t stop there—there were parent dances, more dance breaks in between, and then their beautifully choreographed first dance just before the siblings gave their heartfelt and hilarious speeches. Even though my coverage ended after that, I have no doubt the dance floor stayed full all night long. It was one of those receptions where the joy was completely contagious.
Naomi and JP’s wedding was the perfect mix of laid-back, emotional, and fun. From the heartfelt ceremony to the wild dance floor, every part of the day felt joyful and deeply personal. Their wedding truly reflected who they are as a couple—sweet, warm, and full of life—and that’s exactly how weddings should be. Nothing felt forced or done “just because,” and you could feel how intentional every moment was. It was such a pleasure to document this beautiful celebration, and I left with a full heart and a big smile.
