Kaitlin & Quentin’s story started on the shores of Lake Lovering at Camp Wilvaken, where they met while working as camp counsellors. Since then, they’ve lived all over the world, so when it came time to choose a wedding location, they wanted a place that felt the closest to “home.” Auberge McGowan was the perfect fit, sentimental, peaceful, and right on Lake Memphremagog.
Their guests came from all corners of the world, so the vision for the day was simple: keep it chill, soak it all in, and just have fun together. And honestly? Their wedding day was absolutely perfect. The weather, the light, the flow of the day, everything aligned in the best possible way.
I covered Kaitlin getting ready at the Auberge, and the vibe was exactly what you’d hope for: calm, joyful, and full of teamwork. Everyone was helping out, moving around, fixing little details, sharing laughs, it felt very natural and easy. There was no stress, just excitement and lots of love in the air as the day slowly came together.
Kaitlin & Quentin chose to do a first look on the pier, and it was such a beautiful, emotional moment. Right after seeing each other, they exchanged private vows, just the two of them, by the water. They both got really emotional, and it was incredibly special to witness. I loved being able to capture it while still giving them the space to truly live the moment.
We flowed straight into their couple portraits from there, taking advantage of the gorgeous surroundings and soft light. Everything felt effortless with them, no need to overpose, just letting them be together and enjoy the calm before the rest of the day unfolded. We also snuck back to the pier for a few minutes at sunset, and the light was absolutely dreamy.
Their ceremony took place at the Auberge, surrounded by nature and their closest people. It felt warm, personal, and deeply meaningful. The atmosphere was calm and emotional, with so many tender moments shared between them and their guests. One of those ceremonies where you can truly feel how loved a couple is.
Their bridal party was an absolute dream to work with, fun, supportive, and fully present for Kaitlin & Quentin all day long. You could really feel how loved they are by their people, and it made every group photo effortless and full of genuine energy.
Cocktail hour felt like a little slice of summer magic. With perfect weather, golden light over the lake, and guests from all over the world reconnecting, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful. Kaitlin & Quentin truly took the time to enjoy this part of the day, mingling with their guests, soaking it all in, and just being together. Between the rosé champagne tower and all the laughter, it was one of those moments where everything simply felt right.
The decor was minimal, elegant, and full of thoughtful details. White florals set a soft, timeless tone, paired with organic materials like linen napkins and water hyacinth placemats. Their stationery suite had a hand-drawn style that felt personal and artistic: signs, place cards, menus, everything flowed beautifully together. There was also a subtle nautical touch throughout, inspired by the lake and their love of sailing. Nothing felt overdone; it was all very intentional, warm, and perfectly suited to the setting.
I captured the beginning of the reception, their entrance and a few speeches, and the energy in the room was already amazing. Between the hilarious presentation by the friend MC and the bride’s brother-in-law, and the overall joyful vibe, it was clear this was going to be one unforgettable night.
This is one of those weddings I still think about often. Everything went right. The light, the emotions, the people, the energy, it truly felt like one of those rare, perfectly aligned days. I genuinely feel like this was some of my very best work, and more importantly, such a joy to experience alongside them.
Kaitlin & Quentin created a day that was relaxed, meaningful, and full of love, and it was an absolute honour to capture it. Weddings like this, where nothing feels forced and everything feels real, are exactly why I love what I do.
