Gabriella & Lucas' Cozy Micro-Wedding at Home

Wedding

Gabriella & Lucas chose to celebrate their love in the most intimate way possible: at home, surrounded only by their closest people. After six years together, they got married in their living room, by the fireplace, with just 18 family members and their sweet dog Billie-Jean by their side. Cozy, emotional, and full of love, it truly felt like a wedding straight out of a movie. It was a beautiful sunny fall day on October 25th, and the entire house was buzzing with quiet excitement. Everyone was helping arrange flowers, candles, and little details together. Right before the ceremony, Gabriella went upstairs to change into her wedding dress while Lucas put on his suit downstairs, keeping the dress as a special reveal for the aisle.

The ceremony was officiated by Gabriella’s sister, Sandrine, who is a notary, which made the whole moment even more meaningful and personal. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The mix of laughter and tears felt so genuine, and the emotions were amplified by the fact that Gabriella was six months pregnant. There was already so much love in that room, and knowing a little baby was on the way made everything even more special. (Fun fact: Sandrine was also pregnant, and I was too, only three weeks behind Gabriella! Three pregnant women, one living room wedding… it felt surreal and incredibly beautiful.) The fireplace was covered in white and pink florals, greenery, and candles, creating the most romantic setting for their vows. Soft light, warm tones, and a space filled with history and family love, it was perfect.

I’ve known Gabriella’s family since our teenage years and have photographed Sandrine’s family multiple times, so being invited into such a personal moment felt like a true honour. Sharing this day together, all of us pregnant, witnessing this new chapter of their lives… it was deeply emotional for me too.

Gabriella & Lucas are so clearly in love, and they were complete naturals in front of my camera. The light was perfect, the energy was pure, and the photos feel exactly like the day did: real, warm, and full of heart.

This is why I love micro-weddings. When everything is stripped back to what truly matters: love, family, and meaningful moments, magic always happens. 🤍
