Some love stories start at work, some through friends… and some start with a Bumble match that just works. Dipti & Christos met online and quickly realized they shared the same values, the same sense of humour, and a very natural connection. From their first conversations to navigating long distance and cultural differences, their relationship always felt grounded, easy, and full of mutual respect, which is exactly how their wedding day felt too.
They got married two days before at City Hall and chose to skip a traditional ceremony altogether. Instead, they focused on what really mattered to them: celebrating with their closest people, honouring both of their cultures, and throwing a really good party.
May 18th, 2025 gave us full-on rainy spring energy. The kind of day where you just accept that everything will be wet and lean into it. Christos got ready at his sister’s house in Laval surrounded by his family, while Dipti got ready at the Courtyard Montreal in Laval with her mom. Dipti wore a stunning traditional red sari with gorgeous gold and green jewelry and intricate henna, and Christos went for a classic black suit with a white shirt and red tie, a subtle nod to Dipti’s outfit. The whole colour palette for the day was built around her sari: white romantic florals, lots of greenery, and touches of gold for a timeless, elegant look. Kyoto Fleurs absolutely nailed the vibe with their florals.
It poured rain pretty much all day, so we had to get a little creative with photo locations. We ended up doing their couple photos in the woods, which not only gave us some cover from the rain, but also the most beautiful, soft, moody light. It felt calm and private, like a little pause in the middle of the day just for them.
Honestly, those rainy days often end up being my favourites. They force everyone to slow down, adapt, and stay present and Dipti & Christos handled it all with so much ease and humour.
Instead of a ceremony, Dipti & Christos chose to honour their Indian and Greek roots during the reception with special cultural songs and dances. It was honestly one of my favourite parts of the day, seeing both families on the dance floor, learning each other’s traditions, celebrating together, and just genuinely having fun. It felt really meaningful, but also very them: simple, intentional, and focused on connection rather than tradition for tradition’s sake.
The reception took place at La Bullerie, with around 100 guests. The atmosphere was intimate, relaxed, and full of love. No rigid timeline, no pressure, just good energy, good people, and a couple who were clearly soaking in every moment.
Once the party started, it really started. The cultural dancing brought everyone together, and from there the dance floor just never slowed down. One of those nights where every single generation is out there, laughing, dancing, and celebrating without holding back.
If I had to sum up their day in one word, it would be them. Non-traditional, laid-back, deeply meaningful without being overly formal. A wedding that didn’t follow the rules, but felt perfectly right.
And honestly? Those are always the best ones.
