Sarah and Skyler's love story began in a Dawson College gym class 13 years ago. For weeks, he secretly referred to her as "hot gym girl" while trying to figure out her name. Eventually, during attendance, he finally heard her last name and later asked her on a date. As it turns out, she had been calling him "hot gym guy" too! Years later, when it came time to propose, Skyler had a full day of fun planned with family and friends. But in the end, he knew the perfect place was at home—just the two of them, exactly as it was meant to be.
Skyler got ready at his childhood home with his family and two close friends, and the energy was calm and stress-free. Meanwhile, Sarah's morning was a little more… lively! When I arrived at their apartment, about 30 people were in and out, and she still hadn’t finished writing down her vows. With the chaos escalating, I gently asked everyone to clear the space so she could take a deep breath and relax before stepping into her dress. I will bite any bullet you need me to on your wedding day! Whatever it takes to make sure my couples have a stress-free, amazing day—I'm there for it.
The couple had their first look in a nearby garden, and the moment was truly special. As soon as Sarah saw Skyler, all the stress melted away. From there, we did their couple portraits near the venue, keeping it simple to accommodate Sarah’s stunning (but not-so-walkable) shoes. Luckily, there was a building nearby that made for a gorgeous backdrop! Their engagement session months prior had helped them feel comfortable in front of my camera, and they were absolutely glowing—caught up in the excitement of being just hours away from saying "I do."
The ceremony took place inside the venue, surrounded by elegant floral arrangements and a grand chandelier. Their officiant, a close friend, had everyone laughing, while Skyler and Sarah’s personal vows brought out plenty of emotions. Sweet, heartfelt, and undeniably funny—it was a perfect reflection of their relationship. I love when couples write their own vows; it’s such a beautiful way to learn more about their love story through their own words. Plus, having funny vows or sharing a good laugh during the ceremony is the best way to shake off any nerves—it instantly makes standing in front of so many people feel a little less overwhelming!
Sarah & Skyler chose Auberge Saint-Gabriel in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port as their venue—a timeless and intimate space with warm, rustic charm. Their wedding aesthetic was a mix of romance and personality, with colourful flower arrangements, personalized signs and adorable favour boxes featuring their beloved dogs! The florals were a highlight, from delicate bud vases on banquet tables to a lush, textured bouquet that was as unique as Sarah herself.
This wedding was a party from start to finish! From cocktail hour to the dance floor, guests took every opportunity to celebrate and DANCE. Sarah even switched into a second dress before the reception! The speeches were a highlight, especially the father of the bride, who had everyone laughing so hard that the crowd demanded more stories. Not one to disappoint, he and Sarah’s mom improvised more hilarious childhood memories on the spot.
From the moment the music started, the energy was electric, and the dance floor stayed packed all night. Laughter, happy tears, and pure joy filled every moment—it was the kind of celebration that felt effortless and unforgettable. This wedding was an absolute blast from start to finish, and nights like these remind me why I love what I do. I would travel anywhere to capture weddings like this!
