Some weddings just feel like pure magic, and Mylène and Martin’s celebration at Manoir Maplewood in Waterloo, Québec, was exactly that. Their day was simple, elegant, and overflowing with love and authenticity—a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple.
Fun fact: while Mylène and Martin made the trip from the North Shore of Montreal, this stunning venue is practically in my backyard—I live less than five minutes away! Being able to capture such a heartfelt day so close to home made it even more special.
Mylène and Martin first met at a work event, and it was immediately clear to everyone around them that they were made for each other. Their connection is effortless, filled with laughter, understanding, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. When it came time to plan their wedding, they envisioned a minimalist and classic aesthetic—white flowers, lush greenery, and timeless elegance. The bridesmaids’ deep green dresses were the perfect contrast to the fresh and natural tones of the day.
From the very start, their wedding day had an atmosphere of calm excitement. Mylène and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the beautifully decorated rooms at the Manoir, enjoying the quiet moments before the big day unfolded. Meanwhile, over in Martin’s room? He was taking a nap. Yes, you read that right! The groom and his groomsmen had spent the morning on the golf course, so by the time I arrived to capture them getting ready… they were all resting up for the celebrations ahead!
One of the most touching moments of the day was their private first look on the balcony—just the two of them, away from peeking eyes. It was intimate, emotional, and filled with pure joy, a quiet moment together before saying "I do."
The couple exchanged vows in the gorgeous outdoor garden of Manoir Maplewood, surrounded by family, friends, and so many happy tears. A unique touch? The groomsmen were also a string quartet, filling the air with beautiful live music.
Mylène and Martin also chose a non-traditional entrance, walking down the aisle together. It was a powerful moment—symbolizing their partnership and the journey they were about to embark on as equals.
One thing that stood out throughout the day was how amazing the bridal party was! From the early morning preparations to the heartfelt speeches, they were supportive, fun, and full of energy. They brought so much laughter to every moment, making the day even more special for Mylène and Martin. It was clear how much love they had for the couple, and it was a joy to capture all the little interactions, inside jokes, and heartfelt moments they shared.
With an 80% chance of severe thunderstorms in the forecast, we were fully prepared for a rain-soaked day. But somehow, against all odds, not a single drop fell. Instead, we were blessed with beautiful weather, allowing us to fully explore the breathtaking grounds of Manoir Maplewood—which was a priority for the couple.
After the heartfelt ceremony, the reception was an absolute blast! The food, catered by L'Archipel, was incredible, and the speeches were short, sweet, and filled with laughter. Their first dance was a stunning choreographed moment, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
But the most special surprise of the night? Their baby gender reveal! Mylène and Martin handed an envelope from their doctor to CakeDesign Cupcakerie in Granby, who baked a beautiful white cake hiding the big secret inside. When they cut into it… blue icing! It’s a boy! The entire room erupted in cheers and happy tears, and it was an absolute honour to capture such a meaningful moment.
Mylène and Martin’s wedding was a true testament to love, joy, and the beauty of embracing the unexpected. It was an absolute honor to document their day, and I would love to return to this stunning venue for more celebrations in the future!
